The moon has long been seen as a symbol of love, in art and in real life. This rings true throughout history but also in simple moments such as texting a friend to say, "look at the moon!" when it's an especially great one, that to me is a pure moment of love. For this piece I placed 2 characters on an endless walk through tall overgrown hills at dusk, headed towards the June supermoon (also known as the Strawberry Moon or Honey Moon, which has often been associated with love). I chose dusk on a summer's evening as I wanted to portray a quiet and still atmosphere where the footsteps of the 2 characters are the only sound you might hear. They are surrounded by spots of light (which could be fireflies, faeries, or any number of small and magical things, that is up to the viewer). The aim with this piece was to evoke pure, loving magic.
