Lord and Lady Broadbottom were known all over the Ton for their happy and solid marriage. So imagine the neighbourhood's shock when they heard Lady B had quite suddenly lopped Lord B's head off. When questioned, Lady B claimed that she'd warned her husband many a time for boring her senseless with tales of his Padel games and when he chose that moment (she was just sitting down to 'Love Is Blind') to regale another anecdote about a game he'd won by a particular serve, she saw red. Lady Broadbottom had snatched the axe which was used for chopping firewood and hacked his head clean off. Which all goes to prove that love is most definitely not blind!
