Yohta Matsuoka is a Japanese artist living and working in Tokyo, Japan. His career began in 2004, when he took up live painting in an effort to capture the street culture scene of Japan. His work applies the composition techniques of abstract expressionism, involving a dynamic use of colour and pattern. Since 2021 the primary focus of Yohta’s work has been creating still life paintings, arranging objects on monochrome canvases in a way that evokes a fundamentality of being.
